At last, the "A" team got their act together with an outstanding win, the best of their very few this season, in the final League game of the season, away to Oxford City & County "A".

After winning the County Offcers Cup the previous Sunday, Nigel continued his winning vein, collecting a vital 1 shot win 20-19 supported by his rink partners, Jim, Tom and Bob.

Graham, with Andy at three and father and son Ian and Luke at the front had a resounding 27-8 win, but even this was beaten by Alan, Lionel, Lee and Wills who romped home 33-10 winners.

Jon P, Stuart "Chick", Mike and Ian contributed 13 shots to Central's overall 93 shots but saw their opponents, led by the evergreen Alan Ley collect 25 which was only one short of half the City & County 52 scoreline.

The final readings showed Central in 5th place, half a point behind West Witney and only 2.5 points behind third place City & County. With last seasons League champions, Carterton, being relegated this season, it shows how competitive the league is and how easy it is to end up in trouble.

Let's hope that next season the title is within our sights rather than the threat of relegation.

Tune in next May when it will all start again.
